State proposal to potentially raise ISP trooper pay

INDIANA (WFIE) - Currently, starting pay for a first year Indiana State Trooper is just over $53,000, but a proposal could change that.
The minimum pay for troopers could get up to $70,000 under Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Budget proposal.
The proposal has not yet been approved by the general assembly.
ISP officials say they are currently looking to hire 150 new state troopers this year statewide.
